A well attended and thoroughly splendid evening with an atmosphere of great
fun and happiness throughout. Following drinks, a most delicious dinner was
served in the London Room where the Commodore’s short but
comprehensive speech set the scene for great jollity.
A total of 20 Lots were donated for the auction by Members, ranging from a
glass chess set to a painting commission which sold for in excess of £500.
With Philip Shears acting as Auctioneer for the Youth Fund Raising, the
bidding became very keen indeed and a total of £3530 was raised due to the
generosity of Members.
